Humanoid Meets a BBC Dragon

Humanoid has been busy this week filming Staffordshire University’s annual graduation ceremony.

Awards Week was held at the picturesque Trentham Estate, which provided the perfect backdrop for graduates from all faculties to celebrate their achievements.

The Humanoid crew captured the magic of the day, as well as filming interviews with graduates and honoraries including Deborah Meaden of the BBC’s “Dragon’s Den”, Isuzu UK MD Nikki King, Co-Op Travel MD Mike Greenacre, Head of BBC Vision Bill Garrett and Stoke-on-Trent’s renowned ceramicist Emma Bridgewater.

Martyn Lomax Managing Director says “It was a great week; our crew shot some great material and of course I got to give business cards to some pretty influential people”.

Chancellor's Forum 2010

Humanoid crewed Staffordshire University's newly-outfitted HD studio for the annual Chancellor's Forum last night, where sponsors and dignitaries were treated to a vivid display of undergraduates' creative and technical accomplishments. Speakers for the evening included honorary graduate and BBC Technology Advisor Bill Garrett, Vice Chancellor Professor Christine King, Deputy Vice Chancellor Paul Richards and Chancellor Lord Bill Morris.

A short video segment showcased student work from the Film Technology department and the faculty of Arts, Media and Design. The presentations highlighted graduates working in the media and the creative industries, including positions at Envy Post Production House and BBC West Midlands.

Professor King praised the remarkable aptitude of Staffordshire graduates: "we really are at the top of what we do. Time and time again they tell us, 'your students really do make a difference. They have knowledge, they have skills, they have talent'".
