Humanoid has recently created a series of short documentaries for South Staffordshire & Shropshire NHS Foundation Trust.

“Combating Stigma Within Mental Health” is the Trust’s campaign to end prejudice against people with mental health issues. Humanoid conducted interviews with current and former service users, all of whom had experienced stigmatisation. A series of reconstructions illustrate these harrowing events.

The documentaries were screened to Trust affiliates at their annual assembly. Several audience members remarked how moving they found the service users’ stories. Humanoid are optimistic that the perspective gained from these interviews will prompt a lasting improvement to the Trust’s services.

Humanoid ran a studio-based conference for the Centre for Ageing and Mental Health, in partnership with South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

The conference dealt with falls prevention in several different categories, looking at the psychology behind falls in the elderly, reducing harm from falls, managing the fear of falling, assistive technology, Tai Chi & changing focus in falls prevention.

 
Humanoid recently filmed a conference for South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Trust at Stafford TV studios. The conference dealt with tough issues surrounding dementia and end-of-life care.

Barbara Pointon MBE gave her personal perspective on end-of-life care at home, as well as a moving and inspiring talk from a sufferer of early stage Alzheimer’s.

Humanoid hopes this event will raise awareness and inspire people to develop new strategies for dealing with this terrible condition.
